Finance Manager/Controller – Germany

Are you an experienced finance professional looking for an exciting challenge for 2020?  We are seeking a dynamic and driven individual to join our team in Germany for a 8 month contract.

Our Head Office is based in New Zealand where our company was founded, and the successful candidate will join a global Finance team with staff based in New Zealand and multiple locations across Spain.

In this role, you would be responsible for controlling the end to end Finance requirements for the German market and you will also support your local team with reporting and financial advice as required.   The successful candidate will be a capable and experienced finance professional with a broad remit of finance skills, you will be effective at time management and multi tasking and able to work autonomously. 

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for overseeing and delivering all of the finance requirements for Germany including:

  • Support German Head of Sales
  • Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable
  • Monthly financial reporting to Group
  • Annual Financial statement preparation and liaise with tax advisors
  • Supporting business with reporting and guidance as required
  • Payroll administration and accounting
  • Cashflow management, budgeting and reporting for region
  • Reconciliation of G/L accounts
  • Accruals and prepayments/revenue recognition
  • Reconcile German tax accounting with IFRS accounting rules
  • Draft sales and cost centre reporting
  • Process improvements and value adding projects

Requirements:

  • Professional Accountancy qualification
  • 5+ Years of progressively responsible experience in finance and accounting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel modelling
  • Bi-lingual (German/English)
