School sport timing
Cross-country days, school fun runs and inter-house events, timed properly. Every student crosses the finish and gets a time, with results by year group and house ready before the bell.
Why chip timing

Events we time
- Cross-country: year-group races and waves, school and inter-school days.
- Fun runs and fundraisers.
- Athletics distance events: 800 m, 1500 m and 3000 m, with laps counted.
- Kids' duathlons and triathlons.
On the day
- Upload your student list with year groups and houses (a spreadsheet works).
- Hand out chips by class: numbered, reusable, on a wrist or ankle strap.
- Mats at the start and finish, and results live from the first finisher.
- Collect the chips at the finish, ready for the next race.
Student privacy
Results can stay unpublished and visible only to staff, or be published in the way your school's policy allows. Tell us what you need.
What it costs
The same hire pricing as every Split Line event: a base timing kit is $1,450 per event (up to 3 days), extra timing points are $290 each, reusable chips are $1.50 per participant, and the live results portal is priced by event size from $390. An on-site technician is $650 per day plus travel. All prices NZD excluding GST; freight at cost.

Questions
Do students need to return the chips?
Yes. Chips are reusable and collected at the finish line, so they're ready for the next race.

Yes. Results can stay unpublished, visible only to staff, or be published as your school's privacy policy allows.
Can you time several year-group races in one day?
Yes. Each race or wave is set up in advance with its year group, and results for every race are ready as soon as it finishes.
