A series for every ability
Every race in the series runs the Hyrox format: runs separated by workstations. You race against people like you, because each category and age group is scored on its own.
First race? Pick the one closest to home and start scoring. Chasing the title? Race four or more, and your best four results decide where you finish.
Categories and age groups
- Singles, doubles and relay teams, each scored as its own category.
- Women's, men's and mixed divisions where the race offers them.
- Age groups within each category, so you're ranked against your own age group.
Teams score exactly like individual athletes, in their own category.
Scoring
How the series is scored
- Scored by category and age group. Every category and every age group has its own series standings.
- Your place is your points. 1st place scores 1 point, 2nd scores 2, 3rd scores 3, and so on.
- Race at least four. You need to finish at least four series races to qualify for the final standings.
- Your best four count. Race more than four and your four best results (your lowest points) make up your total, so racing more never counts against you.
- Lowest total wins. After the Series Final in Wānaka, the athlete or team with the fewest points in each category and age group wins.
- Ties. If totals are level, the most first places wins, then the most second places, and so on.
Place = points
| Finish | Points |
|---|---|
| 1st | 1 |
| 2nd | 2 |
| 3rd | 3 |
| 4th | 4 |
| 5th | 5 |
| … | and so on |
Worked example
Two athletes in the same category and age group:
| Athlete | Race 1 | Race 3 | Race 4 | Race 6 | Race 8 | Best four |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sam | 3rd · 3 | 1st · 1 | 4th · 4 | 2nd · 2 | 10 | |
| Alex | 2nd · 2 | – | 3rd · 3 | 2nd · 2 | 3rd · 3 | 10 |
Sam raced five times, so the worst result (5th at Race 8) is dropped and the best four add up to 10. Alex raced four times, also for 10 points. They're level, so the tie-break decides it: Sam wins the age group with one first place to Alex's none.
Follow every race live
Every series race is chip-timed by Split Line. Spectators can follow athletes live on any phone, and every athlete gets a results page with each run and station split. Series standings are published after each race.

FAQ
Questions
Do I have to race every round?
No. Race as many as you like. You need to finish at least four series races to qualify for the final standings, and your best four results count.
Is there a final?
Yes. The season ends with the Series Final at Race Wanaka on 27 November 2027, where the series champions are crowned. The Final scores like any other race, so it can be one of your best four.
What if I race in a different category or age group?
Points are kept separately for each category and age group, so race in the same one through the season to build a single total.
Can doubles and relay teams win the series?
Yes. Teams score exactly like individual athletes, with their own standings in their own category.
How do I enter?
Each race takes its own entries. Entry links appear in the calendar as each race opens.
Who times the races?
Split Line times every race in the series with RFID chips, with live tracking and results on the race portal.
